Who Are We

This nonprofit music organization is affiliated with the National Federation of Music Clubs and the Idaho State Federation of Music Clubs. Each year we continue our mission to spread the love and appreciation for music, encourage music education, develop and maintain high musical standards, and cooperate with the National and State Federation Clubs. We have been in existence since 1912, and we are proud to sponsor the following organizations and events:

The Choralaires is a women's vocal group which presents two free concerts to the community each year. This group was inducted into the Idaho Hall of Fame as the longest continuous running choral group in the state.

The Idaho Falls Music Teachers Association is our local association within our club which provides workshops for our music teachers. The Eastern Idaho Music Teachers Association also providses a piano competition for our students and a series of teacher workshops which correspond with this competition.

Our Junior Music Club is responsible for organizing and running our Music Festivals each year, in which young musicians have the opportunity to play before judges and be graded and given constructive advice on how to improve their skills. We usually average a large number of participants in Piano Solo Festival each year. Other festivals available to our students are instrumental and vocal festivals, ensemble, concerto, and Hymn Festivals. State Federated festivals are also available to students who have membership with the NFMC.

Our music scholarship competition is an event which provides partial funding for students attending summer music camps or college. For many years proceeds from our annual home tour provided money for our scholarships. With the downturn in the economy and construction industry, the revenues have dropped significantly. Because of this, Music Club has been seeking contributions to sustain its Scholarship Awards Program. We sincerely appreciate all the businesses and individuals who have graciously contributed to our scholarship program.

Our club has always supported the arts and musical organizations within our community, including the Idaho Falls Symphony, Eastern Idaho Youth Symphony, Idaho Falls Arts Council, Idaho Falls Youth Arts Centre, Idaho Falls Opera Theatre, Idaho Falls Community Concerts, and other local musical events. We have a wonderful organization and hopefully will continue to promote the advancement of music in our community for years to come!
